The New Enemy

The New Enemy is excited to announce that we’ll be recording our next EP during the month of July. We have 6 new songs dialed-in and ready to roll. Some pretty melodic, some pretty heavy (at least for us). It’s a good mix, and we think you’re gonna be stoked. If you’ve seen us live recently, you’ve likely heard a couple of the new tracks already.

We’ll be working with producer Simon Head (SNFU, Marilyn’s Vitamins) once again. Along with having an amazing ear for recording punk rock, Simon’s a great dude, and we have a lot of fun working with him.

From our first shows, to our first CD, and all the ups and downs along the way, 2008 has been a hell of a ride for The New Enemy. It’s rejuventated our love for punk rock, and reminded us of the comradery within the community. We’ve been given incredible support from our local scene, as well as people from all over the world. We humbly thank you all, and look forward to working together towards great things in 2009.

But first, a few loose ends from December…

This holiday season, The New Enemy will be making a donation to the Touchstone Youth Centre of Toronto. While our band can’t afford a large monitary offering, we can still try to make a child’s Christmas a bit better.

We’ll be donating numerous pieces of clothing, band merch (t-shirts, hoodies, CDs, stickers) and (lightly) used instruments. Touchstone’s management is very excited about this, and we’ve arranged a drop-off for Monday evening.

If you, your band, or your label would be interested in making a similar donation, please contact us. We’ll try to arrange a pick-up or drop-off within the next few days. Sorry for the short notice, everything has just come together this week.

Welcome to another addition of us talking about ourselves.

First of all, a big thanks to Smoke & Mirrors for this past weekend in Pennsylvania. We had an absolute blast and look forward to more shows in the future. Be sure to give them a listen. Also, thanks to the fine people of Erie for making us feel at home. Thanks to Justin for driving the get away car when the cops got called. Thanks to WFSE Radio for letting us talk about gay porn, male prostitutes, and Chippendale bow ties on-air for an hour.

Hi everybody! Time for another update from The New Enemy…

Canuck’s love their own! The June issue of Canada’s Exclaim Magazine has a review for Outsourced EP. We’re featured on the June 9th episode of Canadian Punk Podcast, available from iTunes and on their website. We’re also a featured band on Toronto Punk MySpace. And thanks to the guys at Punkorama on 102.1 The Edge for their continued support.

While being international playboys, constantly circling the globe, we’ve made friends with Sweden’s So What Blog and Portugal’s Moo Musica. The Punk Site have us as a featured band for June. Fuck you Chad Kroeger! We’re GJK Promotions Artist of the Day, and you’re not.

Our first summer show has been booked! We’ll be playing Friday July 11th @ The Embassy in London. Sounds like it’s gonna be a crazy line-up. More details to come…
